Asymmetrical hemlines were here last spring, are even stronger this spring and are here to stay through next fall as well–so get used to it.

We’ve seen the look on the runways for the past two seasons and we are now seeing it everywhere on the streets and particularly on young fashion enthusiasts.

There are so many variations from shirts to skirts, but the one that I would like to showcase is the “hi-lo” skirt and dress hemline that has me wondering what to wear with it. Most often the dress is short in the front and longer in the back (sort of like a mullet!).

In order for me to successfully wear the new hemline, I would wear these skirts and dresses with capris or footless tights. I have to admit that I have ugly knees, so capris and leggings have helped me to disguise this unforgiving figure flaw.

Capris and footless tights are a creative solution to so many fashion styles. Fashionistas use legwear to add a pop of color, create drama, elongate a look, and yes, as mentioned, cover the knees. These photos are good examples of the ongoing trend and I would love to know how you are wearing the asymmetrical hemlines. I imagine this neutral dress would be great with red or black capris.

Oh, the possibilities!

Do you like the look?

What legwear, if any, would you wear under this hemline?
